WHAT'S NEW

2010

  • The meeting scheduled for June 21, 2010, 7:00pm at the Town Hall for the North Branch Milwaukee River Wildlife and Farming Heritage Area Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting has been changed to September 20, 7:00pm

  • There is a Countywide Public Farmland Preservation Kick-off meeting at Fair Park on June 29th from 6:00-8:30pm.  Keith Foye from DATCP will be giving an overview of the new Farmland Preservation Program and Deb will be giving an overview of the County's work plan.  This is an opportunity to ask questions face to face with a State representative

  • ABSENTEE BALLOT INFORMATION:  Absentee Ballot requests for the April 6th election should be sent to the Town Clerk: Joanne Oneska, 1272 E Green Lake Dr., West Bend WI  53090.  Include your home address and each person at that address who wants a ballot has to sign the letter.

  • January Is National Radon Action Month

     

    Radon causes 21,000 lung cancer deaths a year in the United States.  The only way to know if you have radon in your home is to test for it.  Radon test kits can be picked up at the Washington County Health Department, 333 E Washington St., Suite 1100 in West Bend Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM for the low cost of only $6.00.  If you prefer to have a kit mailed to you, send your name and address along with a check for $8.00 made out to the Washington County Health Department to the Washington County Health Department, P.O. Box 2003, West Bend, WI 53095.

     2009

     

  • The Nov. 24th regular monthly  Plan Commission meeting has been CANCELLED.

     

    At a Town Board meeting last Fri morning with Warren, Nancy, Deb & Josh, a meeting of the Town Board and Plan Commission was tentatively scheduled for Dec. 1 - that meeting will be cancelled, and the Town Board is requesting the Plan Commission members to appear prior to the regular monthly Town Board meeting on Tues., Dec. 8th, at 6:00 pm, for reviewing changes to the Comprehensive Plan.  Deb contacted the DOA and received an extension past the Dec. 7th deadline to adopt our Plan.

     

  • The Town Board Supervisors will meet at the Town Hall on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at 10 am, with Warren Utecht (Martenson & Eisele), SEWRPC and County Planning & Parks Dept. representatives for discussion and possible changes to the Town of Farmington Comp Plan

  • Washington County Hwy Commissioner Jon Edgren will attend the May 12th Town Board meeting at 7 pm for discussion on Hwy H.

  • TOWNSUPERVISOR POSITION: Residents interested in running as a write-in candidate for Town Supervisor on the April 7th, 2009 ballot : 

If you intend to do any campaigning (e.g. advising people that you are a write-in candidate, asking them to vote for you, distributing a flyer advising residents that you are running as a write-in, publishing a notice in a newspaper or advising a reporter of your intent), you must fill out an EB-1 Campaign Registration Form which is available from the Town Clerk, Joanne Oneska, 675-6441 or by e-mail: jaoclerk@yahoo.com

 

  • January is National Radon Action Month.  Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers in the US.  For the month of January, each Washington County household can pick up a free radon test kit at the County Health Dept. (Additional kits are $3.00 each)

  • The Town Board has changed their monthly meeting from the first Tuesday to the 2nd Tuesday of the month, effective January, 2009.  This was done so that bills can be paid in a more timely manner.
  • July Plan Commission Meeting cancelled - No Agenda items

  • Information on safe clean up, floodwater dangers, flooded basements, unsafe private wells, generators, stress and fatigue, food safety and other related information is available on the County's website:  www.co.washington.wi.us

  • Office of Emergency Management Due to the torrential rains during the weekend of June 6, 2008, Gov. Jim Doyle has proclaimed a State of Emergency for several WI Counties, including Washington County.  Residents, businesses and farmers are encouraged to report damages that occurred during the weekend storms/flooding.  Call 1-866-611-7982 and leave this information:  Your name, address, phone number, a brief description of the type of damage, a cost estimate and whether you have submitted a claim to your insurance carrier.  This information may assist Washington County in qualifying for FEMA assistance.  The Flood Response Call Center for Washington County is 262-338-8256, 8:30 am through 4:30 pm M-F;  a voice message may be left at any other time.  Also see County website for more information:  www.co.washington.wi.us
