JULY 24, 2007

Prior to the meeting, notice was posted in the West Bend News, on the website, at the Town Hall, Fillmore Hall and Green Lake access.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 by Chairman Gary Schreiber.  Present were members Ralph Eisenmann, Chris Elbe, Joe Enright, Art Seyfert, Diana Susen, Ike Roell and Gary Schreiber along with  Brian Bausch, Kevin Struck, Joshua Glass, and Todd Roehl.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Presentation by Kevin Struck, members reviewed the following:

  1. Approved the changes made at May 8th meeting on the 2010 Land Use Vision Statement.
  2. Reviewed  and approved the “Missing or Additional Goals/Objectives” with only 2 minor changes; add the word approved to the  Natural objective reading: approved nonmetallic mining sites will not have long-term negative impacts on important environmental features or existing developments within the Town of Farmington;  add the word on in the Economic Development goal.
  3. Approved the Vision Statement:  The Town of Farmington offers a safe, high quality of life for its residents.  By concentrating growth in designated locations, and encouraging agricultural activity and the preservation of farmland and critical natural areas, the Town is able to retain its rural character.  Town government encourages citizen involvement, while good schools, churches and recreational opportunities, along with historic places in the Town, continue to foster an enduring sense of community.

Processing the discussion, Todd Roehl explained the updated Land Use Map which added the additional properties that had been developed since our original Land Use Map was created.

It was suggested that the map be hung at the town hall for citizens to view, plus approval needed from  town for  use in the Smart Growth Plan.
