Town of Farmington Comprehensive Plan Open House

 

The final draft of A Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Farmington: 2035 is complete and available for review at the Farmington Town Hall, 9422 STH 144 in Kewaskum, and on the town website at: www.town.farmington.wi.us click here to view

 

The Town of Farmington will be conducting a comprehensive plan open house on March 11, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at the Farmington Town Hall (9422 STH 144, Kewaskum) and the public is welcome to come and go any time during the open house.  Staff from Washington County, SEWRPC, and UW-Extension will be on hand to answer questions and receive comments.

 

Chapter 1 provides background information including state law requirements.  Chapter 2 provides information on existing plans and ordinances in the Town.  Chapter 3 includes information on population, household, and employment trends and projections. 

 

Chapters 4 through 12 contain information regarding plan elements including recommended goals, objectives, policies and programs that are designed to guide the development and redevelopment of the Town through 2035.  Plan elements include Issues and Opportunities, Agricultural, Natural and Cultural Resources, Land Use, Housing, Transportation, Utilities and Community Facilities, Economic Development, Intergovernmental Cooperation and Implementation. Chapter 13 is a summary and highlights key aspects of the plan. 

 

Over the past three years, the Town has been working in partnership with Washington County and the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC) to develop the comprehensive plan. Goals, objectives, policies, and programs are organized around issues of concern identified by town officials, through a public opinion survey, public workshops, and other public participation forums.
